Although my heart still belongs to Disney World, I enjoyed getting to explore Disneyland Park and jot down things that were unique to this park. It's a small list that I'm sure I'll add to once I visit again next month, but here are things that you can't find in Disney World but can in Disneyland!
Paper FastPasses
I was so sad when Disney World got rid of paper FastPasses (FPs) and went completely digital. Being the nostalgic Disney nerd that I am, I was a little too excited whenever I realized that Disneyland still did paper FPs. I never thought I'd miss sprinting to an attraction's FP kiosk to snatch a ticket for my favorite ride! I think that Disneyland is slowing phasing paper FPs out, but I'm enjoying them while they're still there. They're perfect for scrapbooking!
Walt’s apartment
Located on Main Street in Disneyland right above the Main Street Firehouse, you'll see a light lit in a window. Some people might not know, but this was Walt Disney's private apartment where he stayed during Disneyland construction! When Walt was working in his apartment, he would keep the lamp lit to let the cast members know that he was there. I love that they keep the lamp lit in the window, because it really makes you feel like Walt is always present in the park. You can take a guided tour of the apartment today, so make sure to check out the "Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" Guided Tour if you're interested!
Smaller crowds
Although we visited Disneyland on a Tuesday and we arrived at park open, the crowd level throughout the entire day was perfect. We didn't wait more than 25 minutes for any ride, and we walked right on a ton of rides in the early morning hours. The short wait times and low crowd level in Disneyland, two things that are pretty unheard of in Disney World, made for a very leisurely (but productive) day instead of a go-go-go day!
Unique attractions
I love that Disneyland has attractions that are unique to the park and can't be found in Disney World. Some of these include: Alice in Wonderland, Indiana Jones Adventure, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. My absolute favorite one out of these exclusive attractions is Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, an adorable underwater adventure that is unlike any other Disney attraction! Next time you find yourself in Disneyland, make sure to check these rides out (and ride the submarine twice for me)!
Teacup Photo Spot
This is kind of a random one that most people probably don't notice, but I love that Disneyland has a teacup photo op spot! For anyone who wants a nice picture in the teacup, but can't stomach riding the real teacups, this is perfect. Enjoy our very attractive photoshoot! This PhotoPass Cast Member was the best.
