Things Happening in Disney World 2019

Updated: Aug 19, 2020

There are lots of things happening in Disney World this year, so if you're making a trip sometime in 2019, tune in! Here are just a few of my favorite things happening:

1. Mickey and Minnie's Surprise Celebration

Magic Kingdom is celebrating Mickey and Minnie's 90th birthday until September 30, 2019. Here are some things that Magic Kingdom is doing to celebrate:

-Mickey Burger at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland

-Special birthday outfits for Mickey and Minnie

-New meet and greet with Birthday Mickey and Minnie at Town Square Theater

2. Wonderful World of Animation

This brand new Disney animation nighttime projection show will premiere in Hollywood Studios on the park's 30th anniversary, May 1, 2019. It will feature Disney animation from the past 90 years!

3. Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway

I would like to first pay my respects to The Great Movie Ride. You are still missed and will never be forgotten or replaced in my heart.

There is a new attraction opening sometime this Fall (no date set yet), and it's the first ride to ever star Mickey and Minnie Mouse. It will be located in the Chinese Theater in Hollywood Studios, which previously housed The Great Movie Ride. For more information on this new attraction, check out this article.

4. Disney Skyliner

If you've been to Hollywood Studios recently, you've seen the construction for this new transportation system scheduled to open this Fall! It will connect Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resorts: Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and Disney's Riviera Resort. Disney's Riviera Resort is a new Disney Vacation Club Resort that should be open sometime later this year as well. For more information and pictures of the Disney Skyliner, click here!
